Repairs & tailoring in Guelph

Zips, hems, waistbands, linings, and the jacket that has never quite fitted. Bring it in and we will tell you what it needs.

A dark charcoal gray suit jacket is laid flat on a rustic wooden table, surrounded by sewing and tailoring tools including a wooden pincushion with red thread, spools of thread, a measuring tape, large scissors, and a red fabric triangle.

Off-the-rack clothing is cut for an average nobody actually is. Most garments people give up on are two adjustments away from being the thing they wear every week.

We take everyday repairs as seriously as bridal work: same table, same person, same standard. And if something genuinely is not worth repairing, we will say so rather than take your money.

Why us

Why people keep coming back

Bridal-level care, everyday prices

The same hands that fit wedding gowns hem your work trousers.

Every fabric

Denim, leather, suiting, silk, lehenga fabric, not just the easy ones.

Walk in for small jobs

A hem or a zip needs no appointment. Come in during opening hours.

What we fix

If it is sewn, we can probably fix it

  • Hems: trousers, skirts, dresses
  • Zip replacement
  • Waistbands in or out
  • Sleeve shortening
  • Jacket & shoulder reshaping
  • Lining repair & replacement
  • Seam splits & tears
  • Buttons, hooks & closures
  • Leather & denim
  • Curtains & home sewing
  • Resizing after weight change
  • Moth holes & invisible mending

How it works

Four steps for most repairs

  1. Bring it in

No appointment needed for small jobs. Bring the shoes if it is a hem.

  2. We look at it

On you where it matters, and we say plainly what is worth doing.

  3. Price agreed

Before we start. And a collection date you can rely on.

  4. Collect

Pressed and ready. Many small repairs are done the same day.

Pricing

Quoted when we see it

A repair can be a zip or a rebuilt bridal bodice, so no range would tell you anything useful.

What we promise instead: a firm price before any work starts, and an honest answer if the garment is not worth it.

Gunit is incredibly warm, helpful, and easy to work with, especially when it comes to alterations. She also helped us create an awning for our pergola, and we were very impressed with the result.

Questions

Asked most often

Do I need an appointment?

Not for hems, zips or simple repairs, walk in. For anything fitted, a booking gets you an uninterrupted half hour.

How long will it take?

Small repairs are often same-day if you come in early. Anything larger gets a collection date at the counter.

Will you tell me if it is not worth fixing?

Yes. Some garments cost more to repair than to replace, and we would rather say so than take the work.
